BorderPass FAQs
How can BorderPass help me?
As an accepted applicant or student of one of the Saskatchewan Colleges, you will receive study permit application preparation as well as review and filing services through BorderPass, all facilitated by Canadian immigration lawyers. Additionally, you will have free access to the portal’s resources for as long as you are a student. The Document Vault on BorderPass stores all your documents and keeps you on track with notifications of key dates in your immigration journey. Finally, if you receive a study permit refusal, BorderPass can offer judicial review services at a fraction of the cost of obtaining your own legal services.
How can I access BorderPass?
Once you are given a Letter of Acceptance, you will be provided with the link to the Saskatchewan Colleges portal on the BorderPass site. Once you are registered through the Saskatchewan Colleges portal, you can enjoy the services that are available to you for free or at reduced rates.
Are there any additional costs for the BorderPass services?
When you first log in, there is a $50 administration fee to access the portal. After that, the initial application review and legal advice are free. There are, however, services on the BorderPass site that are available at a cost. For example, you can book a one-on-one meeting with one of the BorderPass lawyers for a fee. If you require judicial review services, those are also provided at a cost. Having said that, through your affiliation with Saskatchewan Colleges, the costs of services on the BorderPass website are heavily discounted. Please consult the BorderPass website for the most up-to-date prices.
Is the application process easy?
BorderPass has created the resources to be VERY user-friendly. The website walks you through the process step by step with very clear directions and notifications if more information is required. Further to this, the beauty of BorderPass is its ability to extract information from the documents you upload so that the chances of entering information incorrectly on your immigration applications are greatly reduced.
Why would I choose to use BorderPass?
At a minimum, the BorderPass platform acts as a “storage” area for all documents related to your immigration journey. This document vault can be maintained for years, and you can access these documents whenever you need them.
The beauty of BorderPass, though, is that it provides premium legal services for very affordable rates. As a student/graduate of Saskatchewan Colleges, you are provided these services at no cost or very low costs in comparison with going rates for legal services. When an immigration lawyer is used to oversee an application, it’s level of quality is trusted at a higher level than applications that are submitted without support. This creates a situation in which applications will hopefully be judged more fairly and receive a higher rate of approval.
BorderPass can be used for all of your immigration applications, from study permits to permanent residence, making your immigration journey easier!
